For hair & beauty salons

The salon loyalty program that survives eight weeks between visits

A paper card handed out in January is gone by March. Stampit puts your loyalty card in the phone wallet your clients check every day — so when it's time to rebook, your salon is the one they remember. No app to install, nothing to print.

Three clients every salon loses

The one who followed the stylist

When a stylist moves on, their chair empties — and their clients often go with them. A loyalty card with real progress on it ties the relationship to your salon, not just to one pair of scissors.

The one who quietly drifted

Six to eight weeks between appointments is plenty of time to try the new place around the corner. Without a reason to return, a 'regular' is just someone who hasn't left yet — and you won't notice until the books thin out.

The one who never touches the shelf

The retail shelf by reception earns its rent only if clients buy. When stamps also count for product purchases, the shampoo you recommended at the basin finally has a reason to leave with the client.

How it works at reception

Joining takes less time than settling the bill — no forms, no downloads.

01

Set up your card once

Pick your logo, colors, stamp icon and reward in the Stampit dashboard. Decide what earns a stamp — a visit, a colour service, a product purchase, or all three. About 15 minutes, no technical skills needed.

02

Clients scan a QR code

A small stand at reception. One scan while they pay and your card lands in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — no app download, no sign-up form, no email address to collect.

03

Staff stamp in one tap

Your team scans the client's pass with the Stampit Partners app, or taps phones via NFC. Every stylist has their own login, so stamps are traceable to whoever gave them.

What a salon card should look like

Salons are high-ticket, low-frequency — the opposite of a café — so keep the card short. A 5-stamp card works: one stamp per visit, fifth visit at −50%. At a 60 € colour and cut, the reward is worth about 30 € against 240 € of full-price spend, at the top of the healthy 5–10% band — which is right for a business where one lost regular costs hundreds of euros a year.

At a typical 4–8 week cadence, five visits alone would take most of a year — too long to stay motivating. This is where the retail shelf earns double: let product purchases earn stamps too, and a client who picks up a shampoo mid-card shortens the wait. Research on stamp cards (Kivetz, Urminsky & Zheng, 2006) shows people accelerate as the reward gets closer — the shelf gives them a way to.

Two settings worth switching on from day one: start every new card with a stamp already given — Nunes & Drèze (2006) showed cards with visible head-start progress get completed far more often — and consider a free retail product as the reward instead of a discount. It costs you wholesale, reads as a gift, and introduces the client to something they may keep buying.

You can change the card length, reward and earning rules any time in the dashboard — every issued card updates itself in the client's wallet, nothing to reprint.

Built for how a salon actually runs

Lives in the wallet app

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet — the same place as boarding passes. Still there eight weeks later when it's time to rebook, unlike the paper card in last season's handbag.

No app, no sign-up

Clients join by scanning a QR code at reception. No download, no account, no form — it takes less time than tapping their card to pay.

Stamps for visits and products

You decide what earns a stamp: a cut, a colour service, a product from the shelf. One card rewards the whole relationship, not just the chair time.

Numbers instead of guesses

Cards issued, active cards, stamps given, rewards redeemed — per location, in one dashboard. See who is one visit from a reward and whether the program actually changes rebooking.

Messages on the card itself

A quiet Tuesday to fill? A new treatment on the menu? Push an update straight onto the pass in your clients' wallets — no email list, no printing.

Every stamp is traceable

Each stylist and receptionist has their own login in the Stampit Partners app, so you always know who stamped what — no shared rubber stamp, no awkward questions.

Questions salons ask us

Do my clients need to install an app?

No. The loyalty card is a pass in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet — the same place as boarding passes and event tickets. Clients add it by scanning a QR code at reception, in a few taps. An optional Stampit app exists for clients who want all their cards in one place, but it is never required.

Can stamps reward product purchases as well as visits?

Yes. You decide what earns a stamp — a visit, a specific service, or a retail purchase from your shelf. Many salons give a stamp per visit plus a stamp per product sold, which shortens the path to the reward and finally gives the retail shelf a job in the loyalty program.

What should the reward be — a discount or a free product?

Both work. A percentage off a treatment, like 50% off the fifth visit, is simple and reads generously on a high-ticket service. A free retail product costs you wholesale, feels like a gift rather than a discount, and can turn a one-off reward into a repeat product buyer. A good rule of thumb is a reward worth 5–10% of the spend it took to earn it.

What happens to the card if a stylist leaves?

Nothing — the card belongs to your salon, not to any one stylist. The client's progress stays intact in their wallet, which is exactly the point: accumulated stamps are a reason to stay with your salon even when a favourite stylist moves on.

We have more than one salon. Does one card cover all of them?

Yes. A single loyalty program can span all your locations — stamps add up wherever the client visits, and the dashboard shows statistics per location, so you can see how each salon performs and how many clients move between them.

What does it cost?

Stampit starts with a free trial, and plans scale with your business — see the pricing page for current tiers. There is no long-term contract and no per-stamp fee.

Your best clients already rebook. Give the rest a reason.
